Requirements for participation in cross-border exchange in Poland In order to be able to participate in the cross-border exchange it is necessary to fulfil the following requirements.
  • Transmission services agreement - it is necessary to have a valid and effective agreement for transmission services defining in particular cross-border exchange participation conditions and regulating participation in the balancing market, signed, in the Polish version, between market participant and PSE S.A. - in case of participation in the Polish power system i.e. use of the Polish transmission network. "Agreement for the provision of transmission". The details on the rules for participation in the cross-border exchanges are presented in the Instruction of Transmission System Operation and Maintenance (Instrukcja Ruchu i Eksploatacji Sieci Przesyłowej).
  • EIC Code - EIC Codes are required as an identification for market participants active in cross-border electricity exchange and they can be obtained by the market participant from the one of the EIC Code Offices. See Polish EIC Issuing Office.
  • Transmission capacities - power market entity willing to participate in the cross-border electricity exchange is obliged to secure a right to use a transmission capacity as being allocated in the Auction Process, obtained through transfer or obtained during the auction according to the "Auction Rules".
