High-level meeting between Vattenfall Europe Transmission and PSE Operator S.A. accelerates activities for closer cooperation.
Successful cooperation between the two TSO goes ahead / Phase-shifter installation in Polish substations / Construction of third interconnector projected

On 3rd March 2009 the Management Boards of the Transmission System Operators (TSO) Vattenfall Europe Transmission GmbH and PSE Operator S.A. met in Konstancin-Jeziorna (near Warsaw) to evaluate the outcome of the mutual cooperation to date and to define plans for the future.

Topics identified for deeper cooperation included future common education and training programs for operational staff. Also, Vattenfall Europe Transmission GmbH presented for further consideration the participation of PSE Operator S.A. in the planned control area co-operation for control power of VE Transmission, E.ON Netz and EnBW TNG.

The activity progress in the areas of Investment, Development Planning, Operations and Communication made during the past year were reviewed and assessed. Furthermore, the TSOs agreed to install phase-shifter transformers in the Krajnik and MikuĊ‚owa substations in connection with voltage level switch to 400 kV in Krajnik-Vierraden  interconnection to improve the co-operation of both power systems. This will also allow power exchange on the market.

The construction of the 3rd interconnection line on the Polish - German border was another key point of the meeting.  A precise schedule of this project will soon be agreed by both parties including organizational and programmatic matters.
