Polish - German Cooperation further intensified
During the second Stakeholder Meeting for the Polish – German TEN-Projects on the 24th of October 2008 in the headquarters of PSE-Operator in Konstancin – Jeziorna, two agreements were signed by Polish Transmission System Operator PSE-Operator and German Transmission Operator VE-Transmission: a Memorandum of Understanding and a Operational System Agreement. EU Coordinators, the Polish and German Ministries of Economy and the national Regulators from both countries were also present during the meeting

The Memorandum of Understanding concerns the cooperation of both companies regarding the loop flows in the Polish grid and the upgrading of the line 220 kV Krajnik-Vierraden to 400 kV. It further grants to both TSOs legal and operational tools for limiting unintended high power flows resulting from wind generation.

The Operational System Agreement has been updated and establishes regulations and rules for the operation of both electrical systems (based on the UCTE provisions i.e. Operational Handbook, Multilateral Agreement and Regional Agreements).
