Strengthened protection of the Poland – Lithuania interconnetion
PSE helicopters patrol the route of the LitPol Link, the electricity interconnection between Poland and Lithuania, which will be used for he synchronisation of the power systems of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania with the system of Continental Europe.

LitPol Link has been operational since 2015 and connects the Elk Bis substation in Poland and the Alytus substation in Lithuania. This 400 kV double-circuit line will be used to synchronise the electricity systems of the Baltic States with the system of Continental Europe. Currently, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia operate synchronously with the IPS/UPS system, which is managed by Russia. On 8 February 2025, they will disconnect from it, and one day later they will be synchronised with the synchronous area of Continental Europe.

Infrastructure protection is a priority for PSE. The company has its own helicopters and drones, which make it much easier to monitor the safety of  lines and stations. In doing so, we cooperate with the relevant services and our neighbours. Due to the tense geopolitical situation in Europe, the Company has also plans to further strengthen its own technical resources  related to the physical protection of transmission facilities - said PSE CEO Grzegorz Onichimowski.

PSE helicopters are equipped with specialized equipment to facilitate both the assessment of the condition of the infrastructure and the detection of potential threats in its vicinity.
