Invitation to the 1st Workshop for stakeholders on regional capacity allocation project in CEEof the national regulators of the involved countries
6 May 2009, 00:00
The European electricity market is currently developing in seven European regions in order to enhance the Internal European Electricity Market by fostering market developments firstly at a regional level. One of these regions is Central-Eastern Europe (CEE) which includes Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia.
CAO is implementing a load-flow based explicit allocation process to allocate in the first phase yearly, monthly, and daily physical transmission rights for cross-border electricity transmission in the whole CEE region on behalf of the eight involved TSOs. CAO will then take over the daily operation of the complete capacity allocation process and will be the single point of contact for market participants in the field of congestion management within CEE. The concept of transmission capacity allocation to be introduced by CAO is also open for other regions / transmission system operators.
