PSE-Operator’s information on the annual coordinated auction of transmission capacity and expected cross-border exchange conditions in 2007
Pursuant to the publication by the Auction Office of the values of transmission capacities offered by the different operators in the Central European region for the coordinated annual auction, please be informed that the lack of transmission capacity offered in the auction for export from the Polish system results solely from technical considerations.

In assessing the transmission capacities that can be made available in the annual auction, the planned grid operating conditions in 2007 was taken into account as well as experience in the operation of the national system and combined systems in 2006, including, in particular:

  • the planned scope of  maintenance works leading to temporary reduction of Total Transmission Capacity (TTC),
  • the need for the increase of the Transmission Reliability Margin (TRM) due to unexpected changes of cross-border flows that may occur in the interconnected UCTE network,
  • technical constraints in the operation of the Polish system in the event of long-lasting extreme weather conditions.

Please also be assured that cross-border transmission capacities will be offered through monthly and daily auctions in quantities resulting from the current assessment of technical capabilities. We intend to offer transmission capacities in monthly auctions for periods in which there are no maintenance works limiting Total Transmission Capacity (TTC), and in daily auctions, for which offered transmission capacities can be determined with a much lower Transmission Reliability Margin (TRM).
